KURBICK FAKED THE MOON LANDING

Did you like my click bait title

Anyways, that movie was so weird. I kinda wish there was subtitles for when the people were talking in the meeting room because I couldn't hear what was going on.

HAL was so rude. Smh can't believe he iced everyone like that. Also I like how he said he never made mistakes ever. So killing the crew was intentional, at first I thought it was an actual malfunction and then I realized what he was doing. Man. Then during HAL final moments I thought good die". But I couldnt hear what the guy was saying in the little monitor. Oh well.

The monolith was also really confusing. But it was interesting how the apes and humans approached it. The apes circled around it and groped it and were all "ooh ahh". The humans all stood in front of it, and were like "#MoonLanding". I bet the loud ringing the monolith made was because it got mad it wasn't getting the respect it deserved. Then when it appeared at the end, what the heck was even happening. Did it create the room he was in and then resurrected him into the star child when he died or ?????

Also, remember the star child at the end of the movie? This is them now. Feel old yet?

  1. So on the part where like hal didn't make mistakes I think thats a really interesting parts of the movie because it gives two very different possibilities. Either Hal got enough personality to break out on his own and take over or it was a job given to him by a human (only made humans make mistakes) so they could have programmed hal to destroy anything he felt was compromising the mission or more directly to kill/harm the people. I just found that really interesting, if its the second it could change how we're supposed to view a good portion of the movie.

  2. I also like your point about hal never making mistakes, and I think it comments on how much of a personality he had developed.

  3. I agree, it was really satisfying watching HAL "die". I also still don't understand the purpose of the monolith, though it seemed to raise the awareness/creativity of the apes. It's pretty strange to think about the idea that we are being controlled/changed/watched by aliens.

  4. Yeah, I rly don't think the dialogue was important at the meeting, other than it was about the finding of the obelisk on the moon. Yeah, it's interesting to wonder if the obelisk was a controlling figure and was manipulating man, rather than progressing them. I mean in the end they show how prevalent the obelisks were in the solar system, earth was literally surrounded

  6. First off, LOL. But secondly, you mentioned that HAL knew exactly what he was doing. I for one agree. I think that he might've been trying to protect humanity from this monolith thing. Maybe for his own reasons or maybe for the greater good. I guess the world will never know and we'll be #confused4life.

  7. I never really questioned the ringing from the monolith. Why was it so loud? Why did it even happen? Why did the aliens who had put the monolith made the beacon within human hearing? Why hurt us like this just make it a radio waves?

  8. Ah, excellent questions! Do you have a piece of a theory, or a common theme that could hold some of them together?

Why DO you think both apes and men freak out about the monolith? (Are they impressed? What IS their reaction?)

You didn't feel bad at all for HAL, huh? :-D

Who is the "them" at the end? Who is the star baby?

And yes. Yes, I do love your title.
